Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Southern Sudan, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted by ClueBot. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you believe there has been a mistake and would like to report a false positive, please report it here and then remove this warning from your talk page. If your edit was not vandalism, please feel free to make your edit again after reporting it. The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Southern Sudan was changed by Dewar210 (u) (t) making a minor change adding "!!!" on 2009-10-09T23:13:07+00:00 . Thank you. ClueBot (talk) 23:13, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Sudan, are considered vandalism and are immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop. Consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. DaL33T (talk) 16:26, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

You have been blocked for 31 hours regarding your disruptive editing. Please note that Wikipedia has many avenues for WP:Dispute resolution and therefore removing content is viewed as vandalism. I strongly suggest you use your enforced break from editing to read up on Wikipedia policy and practice. LessHeard vanU (talk) 16:37, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Sudan. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 04:41, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Shilluk.jpg

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Shilluk.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:57, 16 October 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 04:57, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:ShillukLanguage.jpg.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Please refrain from making nonconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Vishnu2011 (talk) 13:42, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dewar, your last set of edits to this article were unhelpful at best, vandalism at worst. Please think a little more carefully before editing. Thanks. Akerbeltz (talk) 16:14, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:LocationOfSouthernSudan.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:08, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for edit warring

[edit]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 12 hours to prevent further disruption caused by your engagement in an edit war at Shilluk language. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

A friendly note

[edit]

Greetings and welcome to Wikipedia. It has unfortunately been necessary to institute a temporary block of your editing privileges to put an end to the edit-war that you were previously engaged in. I have been reviewing your edit history and although I see some indications that you are attempting to make constructive contributions, I also see multiple cases where your edits may be considered unconstructive or disruptive to the collaborative process under which Wikipedia operates.

One of the principles of this process is the Bold-Revert-Discuss cycle. As an editor, you are invited to be bold in making constructive changes where you see areas that can be improved. However, if other editors disagree with your changes, they are free to revert your changes to restore a prior version of the article. At the time, they should state a reason for doing so in the edit summary or discussion/talk page. The next step is key in this collaborative process. Instead of continuing to edit the article, you should discuss the reasons for your edits in the talk page (for example Talk:Shilluk language). Because one of the core policies of Wikipedia is WP:Verifiability your discussion should include references to reliable sources that support your proposed changes, so that other editors may review them. If a consensus is not achieved through a simple discussion, Wikipedia provides many avenues for dispute resolution (please take a look at the preceding link). For other core principles, you can take a look at the Five pillars of Wikipedia.

When your block expires in a few hours, you are free to resume editing, keeping these principles in mind. However, please be cautioned that further edit warring or other disruptive incidents may lead to an indefinite suspension of your editing privileges with little or no further warning. I hope it does not come to this. Thank you. -- Tom N (tcncv) talk/contrib 04:48, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to the page Shilluk language has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to the page Shilluk language. Such edits constitute vandalism and are reverted. Please do not continue to make unconstructive edits to pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. Alansohn (talk) 03:10, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to Shilluk language. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Alansohn (talk) 03:13, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. Tom N (tcncv) talk/contrib 03:14, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

September 19, 2009 listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect September 19, 2009. Since you had some involvement with the September 19, 2009 redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Si Trew (talk) 01:39, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
